Wellness is more than being free from illness: it is a process of change and growth towards a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle. What does a balanced life mean to you and what is your REASON for wanting it? Living a healthy lifestyle and promoting mental and emotional wellness are imperative when considering a “balanced life“ but it is important to remember these are choices. Each choice you make in day to day decisions ultimately create your “lifestyle”. If you are unhappy with your lifestyle, you must start by making different choices when able. For example, your current lifestyle may include a bowl of ice cream before bed each night (don’t judge). If weight loss or sugar reduction are involved in your goals, you will need to decide differently at some point that you no longer eat ice cream at bedtime every night. There must be a day you decide to try a cup of herbal tea instead. Maybe you start by alternating between the ice cream and tea and before you know it, you are actually choosing the tea... ON PURPOSE!
Years ago I had the privilege of completing a course which was aimed at Life Coaching. I learned so much throughout that course but the most impactful lessons were the ones I learned about myself. “Know thy self” -Socrates. More specifically, we were asked to spend some time at the very start of the course soul searching for the reason we were attending. It was almost time for graduation before I was able to formulate a “reason why” that actually felt authentic to me and was also complete and raw truth. I humbly ask to share that with you now, in hopes that it may help you, in some small way to dig deep within your self to find your inner truth.
”My soul’s life goal is to actively and consciously LIVE everyday with passion, strength, courage, inner peace and the energy to build up, empower, and encourage every being around me to live their best days in a healthy, kind, ,considerate and compassionate way. To spread more love and less judgement to the world. My mission is to help every person, around the globe, to be and see the best version of themselves and to know/ discover their own self worth”.
In order to “live your best life“, maintaining wellness is key. Everything we sense can affect our actions and emotions and in turn, our well-being. We all know our 5 senses to be sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. What if we consider for a moment that the way we feel, what we say and what we do can also potentially impact the actions and emotions of others? When we recognize this, we are often more focused on our own wellness and better engaged in our communities. We all have a common need to subdue stress, reduce illness, feel connection in meaningful relationships and to experience peace and contentment. Let’s spread the love and help each other to be the best people we can be!
Your best life can’t be created overnight and requires dedication, perseverance, and a deep and meaningful REASON. Many refer to this as your “why” or “soul goal”. Each of us will have very different reasons which propel us forward. I encourage everyone to take a minute to really think about what your reason is. What drives you to NEED to be or do better? Then, remind yourself with every possible endeavor. Apply your reason in every aspect of life, including your environment, community, career, belief systems, physical activities, self care, healthy eating, self esteem, and creative activities. Doing this will allow you to achieve your full potential and live with passion and purpose.
While modern science does not support the theory of the 5 elements of nature, it does compare them to the different “states of matter” referring to gas, solid, liquid and plasma. According to ancient Ayurvedic traditions, everything in nature is made up of 5 basic elements: Ether (Space), Air, Earth, Water, and Fire. Having knowledge of these elements helps us to gain a better understanding of the Laws of Nature and how we coexist. Yoga is said to be one of the most powerful ways to balance and restore these elements in our physical body, mind, spirit, soul and in our connection to each other and the Universe. These elements are represented in various ways such as color and scent and are associated with varying emotions and body parts. The “Natural Elements Collection” was created out of a strong desire to live a truly balanced life. A life of purpose, truth, authenticity, connection, love, selflessness and gratitude. With this in mind, I hope you LOVE this collection and enjoy each element as much as I do! Namaste
